As a prelude to my summer training I made use of the Holi holidays(actually they were mass bunks) to get started on Android Application Development on my own.
So if you too want to learn how to go on Android Application development keep following me.
First of all you need to know Java, thats a pre requisite. I don't know much about it but I will learn it on my way through.
So we need an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to write codes and to execute them.
You can use either Eclipse or Netbeans. I used Netbeans , so my next steps would be with Netbeans only.
You can download Netbeans from here :http://netbeans.org/downloads/ (select the one which supports most technologies)
Eclipse from here : http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ (Eclipse IDE for Java Developers)
**Important : When you create your Netbeans project folder make sure you don't keep the path to somewhere like My documents/Netbeansprojects instead keep it in the root like C:/Netbeansprojects because when you would run or build the program you may get an error which would be due to inclusion of 'space' between words in the path.
After you have successfully downloaded the IDE, we would include the Android plugin.
For Net Beans we need the plugin named NbAndroid.
Open Netbeans . Go to Tools then select Plugin
In the settings tab select add .
In the update centre customizer pop enter name as nbandroid and URL as http://kenai.com/downloads/nbandroid/updates.xml
Detailed installation process could be found in http://kenai.com/projects/nbandroid/pages/Install
So we are done with installing the IDE and plugin and in the next post we will continue installing the platform and sdk.
I prefer to read this kind of stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is good. Thanks for the post.
