I was very curious to know about energy saving search engines and had used only Blackle.com

, so I made a google search to find more sites and found that most of them are powered by Google Custom Search Engine . Here is a list of search engines I found (also provided is a brief description from their sites) :

5.Krizp.com-Krizp was created by CTRL Internet to remind us all of the need to take small steps in our everyday lives to save energy. Krizp searches are powered by Google Custom Search.We believe that there is value in the concept because even if the energy savings are small, they all add up. Secondly we feel that seeing Krizp every time we load our web browser reminds us that we need to keep taking small steps to save energy.

6.Earthle.com- Earthle was created with the idea in mind that if we as humans ALL join together and make the smallest of changes in our daily lives we can have massive impacts on saving Mother Earth. If humans around the world were to start using Earthle it would save an estimated 750 Megawatt-hours a year.

7.Ecologoogle.com-

Reduce electricity request and electricity bill by using a green and ecological search engine with a black background as ecologoogle.com... Few pixels lit require less energy.

8.Earthoid- Earthoid is made and maintained by Buildasearch.com

We realise that it's only a small step but we alse believe that every little bit helps.
